Ingredients
11/2 cup Instant Oates
21/2 cup boiling water
1 medium onion (chopped)
Fresh chilly (chopped per your taste)
1/2 tsp grated ginger
6 curry leaves (chopped)
3/4 cup scraped or desiccated coconut
1 lime juice
Enough rihaakuru(fish paste) per your taste
Salt (optional)
3 tbs. olive or sunflower oil
Method:
1_ Put instant oats into a bowl, pour boiling water and mix. Cover with food wrap and let it soak for 5 minutes.
2_ In another bowl add chopped onion, chilly, grated ginger, curry leaves and lime juice, using tip of your fingers crush onion mixture to release juices.
3_ Add crushed onion mixture, coconut and rihaakuru(fish paste) into the soaked Oates. Mix everything well, if you like add salt and adjust to your taste.
4_ Heat a flat pan, rub some oil in the pan and transfer the Oates mixture into pan. Bake both sides on low heat until browned.
5_ If baking in oven pre – heat oven to 170 C and bake for 45 minutes or until firm to the touch. Serve hot with tea.
