Ingredients
2 big onions, sliced thin
1/2 cup resins (hikimeybiskadhuru)
3/4 cup semolina
1 can + 1/3 cup condensed milk
1/2 cup ghee
4 and 1/2 cup water
3/4 cup Jasmin water ( maafen ) or 5 tbsp. rose water
4 piece pandan leaf
2 inch cinnamon
5 cardamom pods ( ends cut off )
1/3 cup sea almond ( kanamadu ), sliced
Instructions:
1_ Heat half of gee in a pan. Add onion and fry until slightly brown. Take the onion onto a plate.
2_Into the same pan add resins and fry until puffed, take out on to a plate.
3_Into the same pan add sea almonds and fry slightly just until sea almonds change color. Take on to the same plate and set aside.
4_ Into the same pan add rest of the gee and semolina, fry semolina stirring constantly until color of semolina changes little bit to golden.
5_ Add water , pandan leaf, cardamom, cinnamon and fried onion, resin and sea almond, start cooking when the mixture starts to boil, add condensed milk and jasmine water or rose water. Give a stir and take out from heat. Serve soojee hot or cold.
